Electronics students of Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management (SIEM), Siliguri, gifted a ‘Smart Blind Stick’ developed by them for their final year project on Friday amidst a press meet organized at Siliguri Journalist Club. The stick was handed over to a student of Prerana Educational Institute, Salugara, specially dedicated to the learning and rehabilitation of physically challenged students.
Although, such sticks are available in market at Rs. 4-5 thousand, the students of SIEM have created this tool for rupees one thousand only.
